Wastewater, Odors, Grease Buildup and Scale Can Increase Operating Costs
Problems such as wastewater, unpleasant odors, grease blockages, FOG (Fats, Oils & Grease), and scale buildup can reduce system efficiency, increase cleaning and maintenance requirements, and create operational and wastewater management risks.
- Wastewater & Unpleasant Odors — Affect working environments, customer experience, and surrounding areas.
- Grease Blockages & FOG Buildup — Cause slow drainage, clogged pipes, odors, and more frequent system cleaning.
- Scale Buildup — Accumulates inside pipes and equipment, reducing system efficiency and increasing maintenance requirements.
- Inefficient Wastewater Treatment — Increases operating costs and the risk of wastewater quality issues.
2S Solution focuses on addressing problems at the source. We assess site conditions and select the appropriate solution to reduce grease, organic buildup, odors, blockages, and scale — helping water and wastewater treatment systems operate efficiently and continuously.
Our services cover site surveys and problem assessment through solution design, selection, and system installation for industrial facilities, commercial buildings, hotels, restaurants, and businesses facing wastewater, grease, odor, and scale problems.

Frequently Asked Questions About Water Treatment Systems
What is a Grease Trap and why do food businesses need one?
A Grease Trap is a device designed to capture grease and oil from wastewater before it is discharged into public drainage systems. Municipal sanitation regulations in Thailand require restaurants and central kitchens to have suitable grease management systems to help prevent blocked drains and pollution. Businesses without an appropriate system may face fines or suspension of operations.
What size Grease Trap is suitable for a medium-sized restaurant?
The appropriate size depends on the daily wastewater volume and the number of cooking stations. In general, a restaurant with approximately 50–100 seats should have a system with a capacity of around 500–1,000 litres. The 2S team provides a free on-site assessment to determine the appropriate system size.
What standards must an industrial wastewater treatment system meet?
Industrial wastewater treatment systems must comply with wastewater discharge standards specified by the Ministry of Industry. Key parameters that must be controlled include BOD (generally not exceeding 20–60 mg/L), COD, SS, pH 5.5–9.0, and oil and grease. Applicable limits depend on the type of industry.
How is a building Clean Water System different from normal tap water?
Tap water undergoes chlorine disinfection, which may leave residual chlorine. 2S Clean Water Solutions are designed to filter sediment, chlorine, heavy metals and contaminants that may enter through the building’s pipework. The result is water that is more suitable for direct household and building use, particularly for Wellness developments and Longevity Homes where water quality is an important part of a health-conscious living environment.
How often should a Grease Trap be maintained?
Cleaning is recommended every 1–3 months, depending on usage. If maintenance is delayed for too long, accumulated grease may harden and cause blockages. The 2S team can recommend an appropriate maintenance schedule and provide ongoing maintenance services.
